Donald Trump, at 79 years old, has found himself in the spotlight again, but not for the reasons many might assume. The public reaction was strong, with calls for an apology that went unanswered despite the video being taken down. I looked at the beginning of it. It was fine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6a443c9647f2855f816f895a08fc53b6\">Interestingly, the apology that did come was for something entirely different\u2014Trump\u2019s past support for Kevin Stitt, the Republican Governor of Oklahoma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/updatednewspost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/article-2291014-image-2.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:497px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2286d953a0df83250bd784bc9d70e470\">The discord arose after the National Governors Association (NGA) decided against holding their annual meeting at the White House. According to AP News, Stitt communicated to his peers that the White House intended to restrict the association\u2019s meeting invitations exclusively to Republican governors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-fe68fecbc0a9a2aa358736be8ed53f9a\">Stitt\u2019s letter conveyed a sense of divergence, stating, \u201cBecause NGA\u2019s mission is to represent all 55 governors, the Association is no longer serving as the facilitator for that event, and it is no longer included in our official program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-bc96ac1eb8e75fb6c34845e0cfd1a397\">Trump\u2019s response was pointed, as he vented on Truth Social saying, \u201cWhen Kevin Stitt, the very mediocre (at best!) RINO Governor of Oklahoma, was losing his Election to a Democrat, primarily because he did a bad job, he called for my help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d8ec95ccee502de783a5826786aea921\">\u201cI Endorsed him, and he won. Sorry, my cherished Oklahoma, to have done that to you!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/updatednewspost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/article-2291014-image-3.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:502px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7155f8a98bf652d119610d215744fae2\">To provide some context, back in March 2022, Trump emphasized his support, saying, \u201cKevin was a very successful businessman in 2018 when I first endorsed him. Now, he is a fighter for the incredible people of Oklahoma. Kevin Stitt has my Complete and Total Endorsement!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-90234e8f6e00a23eb4b3efc0377d74d9\">Further elaborating, Trump explained, \u201cThe invitations were sent to ALL Governors, other than two, who I feel are not worthy of being there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-483b514cf6f372d55e009cc978755768\">Trump noted, \u201cI did not invite the Governor of Colorado, who has unfairly incarcerated in solitary confinement a 73-year-old cancer-stricken woman (A nine-year term!), for attempting to fight Democrat Voter Fraud, plus the foul-mouthed Governor of Maryland, who fraudulently stated that he received Military medals, A LIE, is doing a terrible job on the rebuilding of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, and has allowed Baltimore to continue to be a Crime
