Graham is a Los Angeles-based writer \u201ccurrently working on a memoir, \u2018Anyone Who Comes Close: A Year of Tinder, Divorce, and Love in the Age of the Internet,\u2019\u201d according to her column.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"215\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/vibepress.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-119.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2935\" style=\"width:314px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-329daac99d7681d33ab984e34aaa5211\">Hoffman, now 80, told THR in a statement that \u201cI have the utmost respect for women and feel terrible that anything I might have done could have put her in an uncomfortable situation. I am sorry. It is not reflective of who I am.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-af287e504bd35d52dbdeb674062bc8a4\">Hunter was 17 and in high school when she began interning back in 1985 on the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-16c96e30bcf48852da060b08f95470f5\">\u201cI loved the attention from Dustin Hoffman. Until I didn\u2019t,\u201d she writes, citing that by the second week on set, Hoffman started to ask about her sex life. She said she witnessed him talk about women\u2019s breasts and even got unwanted physical contact from the actor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-68bc86772697158cf92654879c5e7a31\">\u201cToday, when I was walking Dustin to his limo, he felt my ass four times,\u201d she recounts from diary-like passages written when she was 17. \u201cI hit him each time, hard, and told him he was a dirty old man.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"146\" height=\"219\" src=\"https:\/\/vibepress.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-120.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2936\" style=\"width:256px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-13e6c2cec192acb38b23826b51d12a9e\">Hunter even questioned if she would have been fired from the production if the producer saw her hit the show\u2019s star. She said she spoke up about a month into working on the production, and Hoffman then \u201capologized and said he would stop.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e901006dbddd01c13ad7c06a2d46f810\">\u201cAfter that he was so nice to me I was shocked \u2026 I guess he felt really bad,\u201d she admitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9c29c0da5983a030e080ccb0654dcbb9\">In her last week on set, Hunter wrote, \u201cNo one is 100 percent good or bad. Dustin\u2019s a pig, but I like him a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-59a268fd1351e667500e30ae4496abfe\">She went on, \u201cMostly though, my heart aches. It aches for the teenager who was so thrilled to join a movie star\u2019s party that she gave him a foot rub even though she didn\u2019t want to, even though she tried to protest she wasn\u2019t good at it. My heart aches for the awkward virgin with the bad hair who had only been kissed three times in her life, laughing as the man her father\u2019s age talked about breasts and sex. I want to weep that she found this charming.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7dbf8c1f1de61c7b9cb7f380bb8e1d27\">She added, \u201cYes, he was gross. But he could also be sweet and wanted me to like him. Which I did \u2026 I still like watching him onscreen.
